The Clinton Ink-Slingers is a writing organization that Walker decided Clinton needed because there was no writing organization there.
Walker had been president of a writers' group she founded in Gary, Indiana, before
relocating to Mississippi.
The group in Clinton has two community projects, actually the group has published two books: "It's All About Food with a Mississippi Twist and Virtues from the Heart" The group allowed community writers to submit entries related to the titles. The non-profit writing group is giving all proceeds from the sales of the books to the local college, Mississippi College English Department for scholarships. At this point, two $500.00 scholarships have been donated.
During the January's public presentation, at the beautiful Quisenberry Library where their newest book, Virtues from the Heart, was revealed the Clinton Ink-Singers also honored locals who have been arts leaders and supporters through the years.
